“The Task Force on American Innovation applauds the bipartisan effort to dramatically increase investments in American science and technology (S&T) through the introduction of the Endless Frontier Act, led in the Senate by Senators Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Todd Young (R- IN), Maggie Hassan (D-NH), Susan Collins (R-ME), Chris Coons (D-DE), Rob Portman (R- OH), Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Gary Peters (D-MI), Steve Daines (R- MT), Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), Mitt Romney (R-UT), Mark Kelly (D-AZ), Roy Blunt (R-MO), and in the House of Representatives by Reps. Mike Gallagher (R-WI), Ro Khanna (D-CA), Susan Wild (D-PA), Mike Turner (R-OH), Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) and Mikie Sherrill (D-NJ). The legislation recognizes that investing in research and innovation improves U.S. global competitiveness, enhances security, and furthers job creation.

We understand conversations are ongoing and will continue to address important details in legislation, and our diverse membership looks forward to providing ongoing input as the legislative process evolves.

The gap in research funding between the U.S. and its foreign competitors is closing. Now is the time to take substantive and sustained action to ensure America remains a top global innovator. We urge members of both parties in both chambers to support providing robust funding for the imperative scientific research across all agencies and elements of the innovation ecosystem. The proposed investments of the Endless Frontier Act are a strong step in that direction.”
