Task Force Honors Speaker Pelosi
The Task Force honored House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) June 2, 2009, for her successful efforts to enact FY 2009 appropriations that put America back on track to meet the bipartisan pledge to double funding over 10 years at the National Science Foundation, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and the Department of Energy Office of Science.
Craig Barrett, recently retired Chairman of Intel, presented the award to Ms. Pelosi. Barrett also was recognized at the reception for his dedication to innovation and his tireless work to promote improvements in science research and education in the United States. Intel Corporation and TechAmerica are co-chairs of the Task Force on American Innovation. Intel CEO Paul Otellini has succeeded Barrett as Chairman of the Task Force.
