Dr. William Brinkman - DOE Science Director
Dr. William Brinkman was sworn in June 30, 2009, as the Director of the Energy Department’s Office of Science. Prior to his current post, Brinkman was the Senior Research Physicist at Princeton University. He has been a senior executive at Sandia National Laboratories and Bell Laboratories, leading a research group that developed many of today’s communication components. Brinkman also served as President of the American Physical Society. He earned a B.S. and Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Missouri.
